For a set monthly fee, payable by standing order, we will inspect and treat your lawn six times a year, including six seaweed applications, two moss treatments (March & November) and weed treatments as required.
Treatment application dates are focused on making the most of the growing season and winter preparation and are typically March, May, June, August, October and November or December.
We time treatments to be applied 24-48 hours before rain is due to maximize the affect and minimize the requirement for customer watering etc but it may be requested that the customer mow 24-48 hours before hand.
Here is an overview of what each application does for your lawn:
Spring Granular Fertiliser:
This application is applied in early spring, when the soil temperature reaches 10°C. It contains a high amount of nitrogen, which stimulates the growth and greening of your grass after the winter dormancy. It also contains iron, which enhances the colour and prevents yellowing. The spring granular fertiliser also helps your lawn recover from any winter damage and prepares it for the upcoming summer season.
Early Summer Granular Fertiliser:
This application is applied in late spring or early summer, when the weather starts to get warmer and drier. It contains a balanced amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which provide your lawn with the essential nutrients for strong roots, stems, and leaves. It also contains slow-release nitrogen, which ensures a steady and long-lasting supply of nitrogen throughout the summer. The early summer granular fertiliser also helps your lawn cope with the stress and demand of the summer season
Mid Summer Granular Fertiliser:
This application is applied in mid summer, when the temperature and humidity are at their peak. It contains a low amount of nitrogen, which prevents excessive growth and reduces the need for frequent mowing. It also contains a high amount of potassium, which improves the drought and heat tolerance of your lawn. The mid summer granular fertiliser also helps your lawn resist weeds, pests, and diseases that are common in the summer season.
Late Summer Granular Fertiliser:
- This application is applied in late summer or early autumn, when the weather starts to cool down and the days get shorter. It contains a moderate amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which replenish the nutrients that your lawn has used up during the summer season. It also contains iron, magnesium, and sulphur, which enhance the colour and quality of your lawn. The late summer granular fertiliser also helps your lawn prepare for the upcoming winter season.
Autumn Granular Fertiliser:
This application is applied in late autumn, when the soil temperature drops below 10°C. It contains a low amount of nitrogen, which slows down the growth and reduces the risk of fungal diseases. It also contains a high amount of phosphorus and potassium, which strengthen the roots and increase the cold tolerance of your lawn. The autumn granular fertiliser also helps your lawn store energy and nutrients for the winter season
Winter Granular Fertiliser:
This application is applied in early winter, before the first frost. It contains a very low amount of nitrogen, which prevents any growth and avoids attracting pests and rodents. It also contains a high amount of calcium, which neutralises the soil acidity and improves the soil structure. The winter granular fertiliser also helps your lawn survive the winter season and prevents any damage from frost, snow, and ice.
Lawn Seaweed:
This product is a natural and organic fertiliser that contains seaweed extract, which is rich in minerals, vitamins, and hormones. It enhances the growth and health of your lawn by improving the soil structure, water retention, and nutrient uptake. It also boosts the resistance of your lawn to stress, pests, and diseases. Lawn seaweed can be applied throughout the year,
Iron Sulphate:
This product is a mineral fertiliser that contains Iron and Sulphur, which are essential for the photosynthesis and chlorophyll production of your lawn. It improves the colour and quality of your lawn, and prevents yellowing and moss growth. It also lowers the pH of the soil, making it more acidic and suitable for certain types of grass. Iron sulfate can be applied in autumn and winter.
Selective Weed Killers:
This product is a herbicide that kills broadleaf weeds, such as dandelions, clovers, and nettles, without harming your grass. It contains active ingredients that target the specific enzymes and hormones of the weeds, causing them to wither and die. It also prevents the weeds from regrowing and spreading. Selective weed killer can be applied in spring and summer.
